Default Anyone loading fury spitzer bullets in encore 357max?

Well this seems like as good of place as any to ask sence this reloading question pertains mostly to the encore rifle (though anyone with a handi or a cva please chime in)

Im thinking of ordering a box or 3 of the fury custom Spitzer soft points. 170 or 180 grains. Just wondering if anyone has tried these bullets and if they are worth the extra coin vs say a hornady 180 gr xtp ( 35 bucks for 50 fury vs 25 bucka for 100 for the xtp). I am willing to spend the cash for a hunting round if there is enough improvement in performance to justify the price. How one would judge that exactly is beyond me but give me your opinion if you got one.

Shooting an encore with 24" mgm heavy contour barrel if that helps.

The Max gets a lot of traffic on the Handi forum.

Here is a recent post about both: https://www.go2gbo.com/forums/108-h-...-max-fury.html

Have you considered the Speer Hot Core in 358 with a max load of Lil Gun. I get excellent result in my 21" Encore MGM

Well i ended up ordering a couple boxes of Hornady 180 gr xtp. I still am kicking myself for not picking up a box of the speer hot core as well. Next order from midwayusa i will have to remember to pick up a box.

The 180 grain fury bullets made for the 357 max are superb.

jtracy1223:
See this post from yesterday on Fury bullets. It should answer your questions. Absolutely best bullet I have found so far for the Max both for accuracy, expansion and coupled velocity.

I have never loaded Fury Bullets they are a little to prices for me. But I do load Speer 180 Hotcores and they shoot very well for me with W296. They shoot a raged one hole group at 100 yds and a 2" hole at 200 yds. From a T/C Encore with an MGM 16.250 barrel.

I have only ever recovered one Hotcore bullet and it had retained 170 grs. of its 180 gr. weight. For me most times this bullet leaves two holes with a good blood trail if you have to trail.

Thats all she wrote.

The Fury Bullets are hands down the best bullet on the market for the 357 Max. Dennis is creating bullets that will someday be as common as Hornady, Sierra, Speer, etc.

Thanks, Dinny

I reload and shoot 348 Win, 358 Win, 6.5 Grendel, 30-06 Springfield, 300 BLK, 44 Mag, 357 Maximum, 9mm, 45 ACP, 45 Colt, 225 Win and 35 Rem
