Default Question on site adjustment

With the standard step adjustment rear site that is very common on .22 rifles, do the steps translate to any particular adjust, such as 25 yards a step or something like that? Did a Google search and could find that specific info, just how to adjust them. Just an on the loose curious mind.

Nope. If nothing else it would vary based on the distance between the sights. Those step adjusters are just stamped out and if you look closely it's not uncommon to sometimes have a burr left that prevents the sight from dropping down fully into the notch.

And they vary a lot in amount of change from one notch to another. I've seen some where going from one notch to the next hardly moves the sight at all, others move it quite a bit.

The only way to fine tune one is to use a file on the notch.
