Default Suhl Thalmann SxS 12 gauge

Hello,

I just purchased this Suhl Thalmann SxS 12 gauge shotgun. Under $300, looks in great condition and good quality of workmanship. From what I gather it was made in East Germany. Does anyone have experience with these guns? Thanks Kevin

Pretty gun. Can’t say more than that as the brand is unfamiliar.
Suhl, the city, has been a center for arms production for a couple of centuries (at least).
Google Suhl Thalman shotguns and you will find a number of videos on YouTube as well as other info. From what i read, that gun is a steal at that price.
How much does it weigh?

I owned a simson suhl 12ga SXS , looked pretty much identical to yours , sold it around 4 years back . It had a full & extra full barrels . I was told never shoot buckshot in it . the barrel length was 30'' .

Do you have a picture of the proof marks? the proof marks on on both the receiver and the underside of the barrels that sit in the receiver.

I am not saying yours wont handle buckshot , just that I remember the gun shop owner telling me not to shoot it in my particular sxs . I remember it kicked like a mule even with regular field loads .
