Why isn't your dust cover lever locked down? Had the cheap $70 pinned and $80 screwed barrel Chinese SKS back in the 80's-90's. With a scope they did pretty good next to my Mini14 using cheap surplus ammo. With reloads they almost always shot much better. Got an unissued Yugo when they first started showing up and have kept it stock so far.

My old Buddy Butch killed as many coyotes as anyone in these parts and he did so with Russian SKS and corrosive ball ammo. He was religious about cleaning it.... He killed them all with the iron sights too.

Everyone should have a SKS in their stable. In fact I don't even own a black gun. If a SHTF day ever actually happens then I will not feel under gunned with my SKUZ! I remember when you could buy a Chinese SKS and 1000 rounds of ammo for $200. Those were the good old days and I should have bought 50 of them and 50 cases of ammo! We used to screw a 2x 2 to the butt stock and belt sand it to fit the contour of the stock. They were made for itty bitty rice and fish head eaters and not us meat and taters guys!

My "AR47" has grouped Tula, Wolf, Monach(Academy), and RAS equally well- very good. Makes me happy. My SKS's never ever shot this well.
