Default 7mm Remington Magnum

So, opening the powder I find I am out of RL22 & 25... 7828 has enough for two cases and I only have a small amount of 4831 sc.

But I have 400 Speer 160 spitzers! Looks like a store powder run!

Whats you favorite powder for the 7mm RM?

R22 has been good to me, but the 160's, not so much.

I am shooting 68 gr with 140 Nosler Accubonds and 61 gr with 175 Partitions, Game Kings or Grand Slams.

I may try R26 since finding 3 lbs recently.

All of my favorite creatures have white bottoms.

Take a serious look at using Hodgdon H-1000 with those 160s.

Boy I haven't done magnum cartridge's in years. How about N 205! That stuff ans 160gr Speer Hot Core's in my old 7mm Mag were absolutely super. Today I'd start from scratch but keep in mind, slow powder!

I picked up a pound of RL22. No one had ANY of the other powders. That's OK RL22 is a good one!

Ladders built, hopefully tomorrow afternoon one will make history!

Looks like a good powder for the 160 according to Speer:

When I looked at my dies. I saw AA3100 load written inside. I have t thought of this powder and I know I have at least one new pound. Looking farther, I found most of a pound opened. I loaded 62,62.5,63 & 63.5g Velocity should be 2850-2900 by book. But Im not hung up on velocity. It will have plenty of power for Mr Whitetail inside 300 yards.

Shooting it today that 63g load is quite a shooter! Out @ 100 it put two in one hole and the third 1/2” to the left. The fourth and fifth farther left. As this bbl heats it moves left. I adjusted windage and let it cool for about thirty as I worked with a 308 and 4895... shot five more. First four where touching ragged hole and fifth was again 1/2” out to right.

This will work for me!!! 😉

I need to install the timney trigger I bought. (Commercial 98 Mauser) this trigger is clean but about 6/7#. Ill look at the bedding while stock of off. Maybe relieve barrel channel a lil...
