Default 6mm bullets

I have a complete box of Hornady 243 single shot pistol bullets #2435 they are 80gr. Would it be safe to load these in a 243 win

That is a discontinued bullet. Sure it is safe with the right data. Hornady manual 9th edition page 218 still listed the data for them. Them bullets were designed for 6mmTCU type speeds. They will detonate in an animal at normal uper end .243 speeds. So do not shoot anything with them you intend to eat, they will be essentially varmint grenades at 243 speeds. The right person might make you a swap for more robust 243 bullets. Those guys that still shoot a 6mmTCU in a contender would appreciate them for sure.

You can still use them to shoot paper. They make nice holes in paper, very, very close together.

Would be just fine for practice, and for teaching a young shooter how to shoot.

Which was one of the things you were looking for, I believe?
