Default My 2014 Jackman Maine trip

We have just returned for another awesome trip to the state of Maine. Jackman Maine to be exact. We stayed at our regular place. Cedar Ridge Outfitters. They are under new ownership, but the place is the same beautiful spot. They made Some changes in town, now one can ride ATVs on the streets from 8:30 AM to PM, so quick trips to the store can be done on the quads!

Weather was great, rained on trip up and back and first morning was damp but we had sun by the afternoon and it stayed until we where half way home Friday. It had been raining there for about a week, so the first few days where LOW DUST!! WOOHOO!!! :veryhappy::veryhappy::veryhappy: It also made for some DEEP water crossings and one particular trail to Canada was very wet. We saw Three Moose, six Whitetail's, one bear dozens of Bunnies some show shoes, dozens of Grouse, Ravens and Crows everywhere along with Red Squirrels and Chippies.

But it was not so deep that we did not get to have some fun!

We took one trail "back wards" from our usual way so it appeared quite different. Views are really nice on this one as we climb to some higher altitudes.

We had two sliced tires and one of my Big Horns was one of them, took three plugs to re seal. The second was a stocker 550 XP tire and one plug. Easily and quickly fixed.

On Thursday, pop took to talking to the sales guy at Jackman Power sports.

He ended up trading in a 2010 XP 550 for a 2014 ACE single seat UTV!!

I took more video than stills, but they are still up loading to photo bucket.

GREAT TRIP I highly recommend if your close enough to make the journey.

Thanks for the write-up CW. I'd be envious if I had time. Wanted to make a couple trips this year and it's just not going to be possible. Too much life getting in the way.

Once Pop has had that little single a bit, I'd sure like a report. I don't know what to think about them just yet.

Excellent pics.

Thanks for sharing with us. Looks like a really fun time!

A couple of those trails looked better suited to johnboats than ATV's! ;D

Nice pics CW! An old friend of mine actually lives in Jackman, the last time I saw him was 20 years ago when he moved up there and I went to his wedding. He and I used to work at a Ski Doo dealership together and I think he may actually work at Jackman Powersports now as a mechanic.
