Default Buck knife nut...

I was given my first one back in 1976/77 by my parents. It was a Buck 110 folder. I wore that knife everyday for most of ten years, all thru high school. (Yes in those days it was not a problem) In about 1979 or '80, I was given a Buck 112 Finger groove. I LOVED that knife. Better size and feel than the larger 110. Well, I lost it in a river some 4-5 years later... I have had other 112's but never a finger groove. Over the summer, I found a pristine '70's vintage M112 finger groove and jumped on it.

It got me looking at my BUCKs! Well, As of tonight, I have bought 8 more older bucks! I think I have a problem... Tonight I bought a nice 70's 119. I bought a couple duplicates, cause what I had was newer. I think I will peddle my newer ones keeping the what I feel are better older Bucks.

I have never spent big $$ on a knife... well I bought a TOPS for over 200$ couple years back.

I find myself wanting a old m124. I have never owned one, but find they are commanding big $$... pushing $400 for some real nice ones.

Any of you guys crazy like me?

i have an old 124 frontiersman i wish
someone would give me $400.00 for.

i'd say the collectible ones i have are my 107's.
i got a bug some years back (when i had and
made good money) and i bought every one
i saw. (most were about $40.00)
i do have some obscure models, like
639's, and 455's, 450, 470, 602, and some
i'd have to dig out and look at.

i have some of the common ones like 110's
a 102, and some 119's

I don't have a picture of my Bucks but I have several. I also have several other knives, some are home made, some are custom made, and some are other brand names. I think I have 60 or 70 right now. As for how many one needs, need has nothing to do with it. I just like good knives and I enjoy collecting them. I get mine out and fondle them every so often just for the fun of it.

I am a bit bothered and satisfied at the same time..

I received my 112 finger groove in the mail. Its flawless and nicer then I could have hopped. But its NOT a 1976-1982 as I expected... Its a 2015 knife. ;( I contacted the seller who rather curtly told me his add states its a stock photo. I searched and sent the screen shot to him and it does NOT... He apologized.

The pleased part is because its a fine knife so I will keep it and start a search for a 1977ish 112 Ranger finger groove.

I also received a 505. Still waiting on my 501 and 119.

if you can find one reasonable, pick up
one of the 560 titanium handled bucks.
i bought mine way back when, and carried it
for a couple of bow seasons. one hunt i was
walking down toward the river on a path that
not very many took. it was quite a long walk
and i'd sat down against a tree for a rest.
when i got to my spot, i noticed the sheath
had come undone and my knife was gone.
i had to backtrack a couple of miles to where
i'd sat down against that tree, and there it was.
right where leaning back against the tree had
undone the sheath and nearly cost me my
titanium buck. i've not carried it, or any other folder
in a sheath since.
