Default Leupold Freedom

I noticed the Freedom line on Leupold site while dreaming about my next purchase. I have never noticed these before and was curious if they were new and if anyone knows anything about them. I was wondering if they were like the rifleman series or better. Anyone have any information on them? Thanks

The Leupold Freedom line of scopes was announced this past SHOT Show. It replaced the VX-1's and VX-2's and is considered an upgrade to the VX-2's.

Wow Doug! That's something!

So Leupold has the Rifleman line, the Freedom line and then their higher end scopes?

And looking at your prices for the Freedom line, they are so good/reasonable/cheap that you'd think Leupold would have just rolled up the Rifleman series with the VX 1 & 2.

Interesting. Do you know if they still made in USA like the other Leopold products?

I believe they are assembled here in the Sates, however, not all the pieces parts are made here

I received my Freedom today and it looks good and the optics are clear. Thanks Camera Land!

I am going to go to get it bore sighted then off to the range.

The only complaint I have is with Leupold because this scope didn't come with any type of cover. Every Leupold I have bought in the past (even my VX1 which was cheaper) has had either a sock cover or the rubber things you put over the lenses. I guess they are trying to save a $ and not include them with this model.

With that said, I like it and look forward to getting it ready for the fall.

I have the Freedom 2-7 x 33 on a Howa Mini action rifle in 7.62 x 39 and I also have a VX 1 on a Mini MkX in 6.5 Grendel. I really like the Freedom scope but something about it seems cheaper (it's not but can't shake that feeling) than the VX 1, can't quite put my finger on it but it is a good scope, am I glad I bought it, Yes, will I buy another, Yes..
