Perhaps a fine replacement for the original Ranger! With FWD, and about 90% of the time running empty or nearly so, it should be great in the snow.

Maybe Ford has caught on to the fact that they blew it, so far ad the old Ranger is concerned.

I had a Ford Courier just like that one, even the color....then I went to the Rangers. The wife and I took that little Courier on a 6,000 mile trip, covering much of the Midwest (north and south) and a good share of the southwest.. Wish I had it today.

Of course, that Courier actually was a Mazda, and Ford owned much of Toya-Koga (sp?) the parent company. For several years the Rangers were actually Mazdas with different details.

My absolute favorite pick-up was my 1988 Ford Ranger. 6cyl, 5 spd manual, locking hub positive fwd, go anywhere, get out of anything vehicle.

It even had the privledge of making dual tracks in 20 inches of snow so my sons 2005 Ford Explorer could get up the 1/2 mile long driveway to deer hunt after a storm. Best lil truck ever made!

I had a 1986 ranger that I drove for 13 years.
Traded it for a 1999 Tacoma which I've been driving for 20 years this month.

LOL, yeah I do.
I'm one of those that if you have something that works, why trade it for something that might not.

MY EYES!!!! Put a couple jump seats in the back and it could pass for a suburu brat. Wait! at least they were 4x4. Looks to me like something save the whales peta, the aspca or hippys for legalizing pot would buy for fleet vehicles. Maybe they could make it green with some pink flowers on it. At least that challenger at the top of the page of that link looks bad ass! Probably carry more in its trunk then that thing could in its bed to boot.

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! STEEL FOR TANKS NOT FENCES!!!
