Force is fast.

NHRA Top Fuel driver Brittany Force set a new series speed record of 338.17 mph on her way to victory at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway event. The run came during Friday’s qualifying session when she crossed the line in 3.659 seconds.

Force went on to set a track elapsed time record of 3.652 seconds at 334.73 mph as she beat season points leader Steve Torrence in the final on Sunday for her second win of the year and tenth of her career.

The victory moved Force into second place in the season standings where she is in championship contention heading into the finale at Pomona, Calif. in two weeks.

I can't even fall out of my chair that fast!

I used to have a fox body Mustang that was all tubbed out with a fuel cell in the trunk and a 450 hp 348 twisted wedge motor under the hood...... it was fast. It would look like a turtle crossing the road compared to Brittany's numbers. I can't imagine the "G" forces that girl endures at those speeds. I have always been a thrill seeker but I'd pass on a ride in that thing without hesitation. I can't even fathom those numbers!

Way ta go young lady....you're a better man than I....or something like that!

Her dad John was a real big name in drag racing and I think still races some but mostly she has taken over the family business.

I've watched "ole hot headed John" for years. Heck of a drag racer, and you never had to chase him down for a fight.

yup there so quick today and pull such hard gs that racers even suffer from detached retinas. I remember when we used to go to Union Grove to watch the races. When those top fuel cars launched you could feel the power vibrations in your chest in the stands and that was in the 70s when they had about two thousand horsepower. today there putting down over ten thousand hp!!!!

Retinas are forced Big Daddy Garlits to retire.
Just think how fast they would be if they still ran the quarter mile.

I cannot think of his name but at least one of the big names from the sixties and seventies was still racing at least a year ago.
