This is why,seem familiar??

Eight levels of controls by Saul Alinsky to transform a nation through socialism into communism.

1. Healthcare – control healthcare and you control the people.

2. Poverty – Increase the poverty level as high as possible, poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you provide everything for them to live.

3. Debt – Increase the debt level to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes and this will produce more poverty.

4. Gun control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from government. That way you are able to create a police state.

5. Welfare – Take control of every aspect (food, housing, income) of their lives because that will make them fully dependent on the government.

6. Education – Take control of what people read and listen to and take control or what children learn in school.

7. Religion – Remove belief in God from the government and schools because the people need to believe in only the government knowing what is best for the people.

8. Class warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. Eliminate the middle class.

To survive I NEED only air, water, food, clothing, and shelter. With a gun (and a lot of ammo), what I do not have I can TAKE.

A good Defense is having an even better Offense.

So what you're saying is that because I am well prepared with a few cattle, chickens, lots of garden produce, solar panels for electricity etc and you are not, you are going to use your guns to take what I have worked hard to secure? You would most likely lay dead at the gate!

land_owner, I can believe you put that into type....you just defined yourself as the enemy!

Unfortunately this is what you need a gun for.

Nothing has changed in any number of centuries that have past. In the frontier days of this country there were maruanding bands of criminals. The pioneer sodbuster needed that shotgun to defend the homestead. When the James gang came out of that bank in Northfield Minnisota they got the ever loving dog poo shot out of them because they were taking the townsfolk hard earned money out of that bank. Helping themselves to other peoples property.

Go back to the middle ages and people formed up in groups to travel the roads between villages because of thieves and cutthroats. They had quarter staves and daggers to defend against those who would kill them just for what they had.

Nothing has changed at all in human history except the rose colored glasses people insist on wearing. They think modern times are civilized and safe, when all they are doing is deluding themselves. The world is still a brutal and savage place and you best be armed with something you know how to use and be willing to use it.

Somebody or somebodies will see your chickens and garden produce and think dinner time. If your lucky, you'll see them coming and be able to shoot. If not, they'll attack at 4am and kill you while you're still trying to figure out whats happening.

Nothing has changed in the last thousand years except our ability to deceive ourselves. The veneer of civilization is very thin in the best of times. Never under estimate how vicious someone can be when they have starving kids to feed.

Buy more ammo.

Oh, one more thing; Don't go advising you have cattle, chickens, and produce 3 miles north Brownells. Now every refugee will know theres food and where it is. You can only shoot one gun at a time. If "they" have the numbers on you, you'll go down just like Custer at the Little Big Horn.

Don't over do it, just enough will do.

It's a joint effort cb51 which puts my cattle and chickens a couple of hours from here. I live in a modest house on a 75 by 125 foot lot 3 miles north of Brownells. No chicken or cattle here.....only what's in the freezer and pantry and I would protect that with a gun. Everything invested is cost shared and so is the leffort to make it all happen. If you have ever noticed I am very seldom on this forum from noon Friday until Monday morning. That is when I do my part.

I agree with and understand everything you said cb51. It's all been thought out and nothing is taken for granted! We won't be a soft target!

Except for the broken contraction in that reply, your finger pointed at me is of little effect. I only put in writing what occurs to me as the fact-laid-bare in personal survival. Apparently, it resonated, as is well pointed out throughout this thread.

There is NO civility whatsoever in gut wrenching personal survival. Trust no one. Kill everyone. Last Man Standing...DO or DIE trying.

I am nearly as "stockpiled" as you, but maybe not as "fortified" in a stronghold of like minded people as are you. Ever watch the Kevin Costner movie, "The Postman"? It surmises the U.S. experience after an apocalyptic event to include "organized" roving gangs terrorizing the countryside, murder, fortified towns, zero trust of individuals, etc. Not "Lord of the Flies", but that name suits a world thereafter.

You can bet I won't be coming to a neighborhood near you as I have plenty of "space" near me. I will try to survive the best that I can in the chaos, ugliness, fear, and shear insanity if the world goes mad. These "niceties" and "pleasantries" we extend to one another on this public forum go straight to h--- in the nightmare of a SHTF event - even one falsely made and fanned by the fire of a fear mongering Media.

We were friends before we "knew" one another and expressed an opinion on a subject NEITHER OF US know for certain. We can tolerate one another now. YMMV...

Hey, you are the one that says your going to go on the offense and take what you need. Since I/we are well prepared then that offense is pointed at me and mine. If you are on the offense by your choosing and I'm on the defense that would make us enemies on your terms.

We have both used strong terms here but the reality of the situation is that there is and will always be power in numbers. We have always been like minded on about every topic until now. Think about it for a minute! Wouldn't you be better off to join the circle of wagons in defense of what we have and are able to do together with a bunch of other salty old buzzards who through **** or high water would defend their families to the 'nth degree rather than go on the offense by yourself?

We are a long, long way from having to "circle the wagons", but when it comes it will come fast and when/if it does I would much rather lock arms with you in unity to defend ourselves than to shoot your cantankerous old arse for trying to rob me.

After reading several of your other posts I now know that you have been working on your income tax for three days straight......that's enough to make anyone cantankerous, including me. So I am considering how pissy I get when I do my taxes and then write a check to the giverment! Give it a few days and rethink it because a one man offense going on the take is not a "good offense"!
