Default odd casings

Hey, not sure where this should be posted but this seemed the most likely place. I keep an eye on a neighbor's property and when checking on it I found where somebody had fired about 30 cartridges. To me they look like .223 or .243 but the heads are stamped odd. The head of each brass casing has small circles stamped in it around the edges with the middle circle having a + sign stamped inside it. The only other markings are the letters LC and the number 14. Any ideas what these are?

I think I may have found them. The LC stands for Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, in Independence, MO ( I'm in Branson, Mo.) and the 14 would be the year of manufacture. Such cartridges are not stamped with the caliber and are made for the US Army
.

The cross within the circle indicates it is loaded to NATO standards to be used by all countries in NATO.

Seems like someone did a mag dump using surplus 5.56 ammo. LC 14 is 2014 ammo, probably purchased from LGS to test their new AR.
