I cook on the grill all the time this time of year to keep heat down in my house. I also have propane camp stoves that I keep in supply and use them also. When one wears out I toss it and hook up the next...

ill give them to the wife and eat the thighs. They not only are more moist but have much more flavor too. since my wife made me quit eating chicken skin I probably haven't ate 5 breasts. Use to like them because they had the biggest piece of skin on them I too am trying to loose a bit of weight right now but im not going to quit eating what I like. I just quit coming back for seconds or piling 2lbs of supper on my plate and quit eating in between meals and sweets and the most important part is getting some exercise. Ive lost 10lbs in the last 3 weeks. You can get fat on tofu and lettuce if you park in front of the tv all day long. But life's to short to live on health food. I kind of lied though. I actually have probably ate quite a few breasts. For supper tonight is chicken alfredo. About half cut up breasts and half thighs. But it sure isn't health food and im sure not going to quit eating it either.

I do the same thing! Thighs and wings are my first choice; I'll eat the drumsticks if I have to. Kathie only eats breast meat.

all those watching-the-television goodies that folks
munch on without a thought are what gets you.
eat what you're supposed to at mealtime and don't
park in front of the television or computer afterwards.
get out and pull weeds or walk around and pick up trash
or something to get yourself moving around.
my last doctor said that those folks that lose 10 and 20
pounds at a shot are more likely to gain it back than
folks that lose it 3 and 4 pounds at a time.
i have a relative that's well on their way to 400+ pounds
from sitting and sucking up popcorn. i don't think it's
so much the popcorn as the junk and flavored salts
and "drizzles" they put on it. then washing it down
with a half a gallon of diet cold drink. a green salad
with 500 calories of add-ons and dressings doesn't
help any either. half a bottle of "lite" dressing isn't
any better than a couple of teaspoons of regular.

just me- i buy leg quarters and thighs.
some time way back, they used to give the live
birds their shots in the breast to boost their growth
(according to the heart assn. or cancer society or
whoever it was that gave that heart health seminar
years back that i saw )
and i haven't bought any chicken breasts since.
Here in Georgia, growth hormones and antibiotics are illegal.

One can now buy pre-brined chicken breast that in reality are more tasty than plain chicken breast with brining.
They are moist and have a flavor that is different from plain breasts.
I have gained a HUGE liking for the chicken thighs served at Chinese Buffets that are served on those wooden skewers much better than most fried chicken at such places that usually is pre-prepared.

When I cook thighs now I either de-bone them or at minimum slice a cut along the bone so they are not slimy near under cooked in the middle which I have come across at four out of five restaurants serving fried chicken.

Does city chicken go meow or bark bark?
