Default Cooked out on the grill.

Boneless chicken breasts. Drumsticks, & whole jalipenos. Brockley fontlets with melted cheddar cheese on top. And a big mug of ice cold silver springs water to wash it down with. 🙀

Great, we want to buy one of those little gas grills at Home Depot. It's only me and my wife now.
But I noticed they didn't have a grease shield over the burners?

shows how long it's been since i used a gas grill.
they used to have those lava rocks you put down
on a grate over the burners.

get you a charcoal grill for about 1/3 the price and
use some of that mesquite that used to be everywhere
in your area. things cooked on wood are much better anyway

I agree on the mesquite wood flavor being the best.

If your boneless chicken breasts are dry then you are over cooking them Lloyd. Try a meat thermometer. Cook to 160* and take them off the grill.

or cook 'em to brown over the heat, then foil
wrap and move 'em to the side and finish slow.

just me- i buy leg quarters and thighs.
some time way back, they used to give the live
birds their shots in the breast to boost their growth
(according to the heart assn. or cancer society or
whoever it was that gave that heart health seminar
years back that i saw )
and i haven't bought any chicken breasts since.

Naw... I worked in chicken processing plants for ten years before my cancer stopped me. The NEVER said anything about steroids and such. I always did wonder how a 6 week old chicken got so big.... musta been magic beans....

looking on the FDA site, it's not very clear if they do or don't.
just says certain injections have been cleared for use in animals
for consumption by humans. i know the ones i've raised and
ate didn't have anything other than wormer and such.

My mother raised 100 fryers every year when I was a kid. They averaged about 2-2&1/2 pounds each when butchered at 12 weeks I think it was. We pretty much lived on chicken and seafood as I was growing up. Thatís what we had available. We lived to close to town to raise hogs of beef. So mother bought those meats very seldom.
