Default one of my favorites last night

simple to make and delicious. take a chunk of venison muscle out of the freezer and partialy thaw it. then take a sharp knife and cut it real thin. Fry it in real butter with onions and peppers if you like (I don't I think they overpower the taste of everything else) when the meat is done (should have some crispy edges add some mushrooms and stir them in till there warm. Take a loaf of French bread and slice it into a sub bun. Lay on a layer of cheddar cheese on one side an mozzeralla on the other. they on both sides a layer of peperoni. then nuke the bread till the cheese starts to melt. Laddle on the meat mixture generously and you have a meal fit for a king. Yooper cheese steak! You could probably use beef too and call it a phily cheese steak but its pretty rare that theres beef in my freezer.

That sounds very good Lloyd. But to many carbs for my diet with all that bread. So Iíd take the meat & veggies. We grilled burgers last night. Sides were cole slaw, Fried onion bell peppers mix. Stewed jalipenos. Cottage cheese. And watermelon cubes for desert. Spring water to wash it all down.

I agree it would be decicous. But my doctor when we lived in Silver City NM told me you canít lose weight eating tortillas. And he was right. But thanks for the thought.

A six inch corn tortilla and a slice of light bread are almost identical in the carb department. Change to a flour tortilla of the same size and you add a carb. I still have to have a soft taco now and then, just not very often.

Your venison sub thing sounds good ,Lloyd, but I'll have to substitute beef as I have no access to venison anymore. NM went to the draw system for a deer tag years ago and I'm not tough enough anymore to drag one to camp if I drew out.

In Alaska proxy hunting was legal. The village elders(old folks) could get a younger family member or friend to kill their winter meat. I lived in the village long enough that they started calling me a elder and would cut firewood or bring me fish if I needed it.

And the last few years I did need a little help.

Thanks for the offer but considering the length of the trip that would be some expensive venision. I'll just have to stick to beef.

have to admit that "deer boy boots" sounds a bit gay. Maybe these would qualify https://www.sorel.com/caribou-%7C-28...190604113441:s

oh well the farmers who raise cattle up here consider themselves men not boys anyway. Ball caps and work boots.
