We had one up here, in the ST. Cloud area, lasted a good five years in a strip plaza.
My sig. other thought the brisket was excellent and she is very fussy.
I have found as many as not places in this area close due to plaza owners being greedy SOBs that jack up rent frequently.

Are you saying you didn't like Red Chimney? The last time we ate there I decided they had changed their sauce receipt as it seemed more sour tasting. I'm not a fan of the sour Carolina style BBQ sauce. If you don't like Red Chimney just head on south down Canal street to Danny's. Good stuff. The last two times we were in the Cavern city we had the two oldest gg girls with us and asked them where they wanted to go for lunch. You guessed it, McDonald's. I didn't complain. Lots cheaper than feeding them at the BBQ joints.

All you need to know is Joe Harvey Blvd. and Bender. That's where most businesses are located. Don't you have GPS? I thought everybody had GPS nowdays.

I'll use it next time. It's been awhile since I've been over that way. Gun stores sucked lol.
I usually use Coveys here. LGS is too expensive. It was better when Larry owned it.

Lefty's Exchange is a hock shop turned mostly gun store and is the most price friendly has a pretty good selection, also owner friendly to boot.. Desert Guns closed the door. I imagine he retired. I haven't been in Gunn's Guns in years. Don't like to be ignored.

On our Roswell trip Friday I took time to stop in Zia as I hadn't been the place in a few years. Wow, I was like a kid in a candy store looking at everything in there now. Still the same friendly, helpful place it's always been. I went home with six boxes of 22 rimfire was all. I agree about when Larry was the owner and sales person. Great selection at great prices. Things changed when he sold out and retired to the ranch.

I remember Larry, when he was just that house looking shop on Main Street. I think Zia is Coveys.

Zia is in the block north of 19th street. Still the same bunch that had it when it was on East 2nd street across from the farm &ranch supply. Covey's is quite a bit farther south and on the other side of the street. I thought Covey's had finally completely closed down but it's showing to be open at noon. Blount's is between the two but back east of main street a bit. I've only been in it once several years ago and they didn't have much at the time. The last time I looked Larry's which has become LDG was still in the same house with almost no parking. They basically ripped out the inside of the place and completely redid it and there was nothing "discount" about the place anymore. I haven't been in there in years. There is an LDG in Hobbs also. They do have a fair selection of powder, bullets, and primes and the prices are fairly reasonable but there is nothing "discount" in the store that I've seen. It is cheaper to buy reloading supplies from them than to travel out of town or order it online unless you do a bulk order.

Talk about thread drift. To get this back on track, have you tried Dickies yet?

O&S, no we haven't tried them yet. We might when we go to the casino in Ruidoso on Labor Day. I've been
told that the BBQ at the casino buffet is better than Dickies. Being Indians it's probably Buffalo lol.
That is an excellent buffet though. The last time we went I even won $68.00. Whoo Hoo.

Sorry I got it off track O&S. I just enjoy hearing what's going on out your way. We don't hear much about
you guys out East. We hear more about Eddy county than we do Lea.

The only time I've ever eaten at the caniso was in July and our son took us there for breakfast. Gotta say, that lady behind the stove put together one of the best omelets it's ever been my pleasure to consume. I also have to say the over all service was as good as I've ever had anywhere. Those Apaches know how to gather in the white eye's dollars. Wife's next reunion will be in Ruidoso again and we have already planned to have breakfast there.

I've never gone into the casino part of the place. I did look in as I walked the hall looking at all the art work. I saw nothing in there of interest.

Poor ol' Lea County. No one notices us except the state gladly taking all those tax dollars and spending them in other parts of the state while we get nothing in return. We are just a bunch of conservative gun loving rogues down here according to our idiot in charge of the state. The state has rebuilt the road from Lovington to Artesia three time in the last twenty five or so years in Eddy County and Lea County is still driving on the same piece of crap, no shoulder road that was built in the seventies. The state did smear tar in all the cracks in the asphalt once a long time ago and the speed limit is still 55. I guess they consider us too dumb to drive any faster.
