i haven't made any in years, since my granny passed.
we used to make in in her old crockery butter churn.
make up about 4 or 5 heads worth or cabbage.
i don't remember ever measuring anything though.
just pickling salt and cut up cabbage.
layer of cabbage, handful of salt, layer of cabbage,
handful of salt and so on. . . .
cover with a towel, pack it in jars when it worked up.

Yep sure! Everyone to their own taste..and yes, I sometimes enjoy a Reuben sandwich ! My problem these days is having to prepare meals for myself only.
Nothing it seems, comes to or from the grocery as single serve. Even a can of peas or corn is about twice what I need. If I buy a pound or two of any meat, I have to freeze it between usages. A loaf of bread goes stale before I finish it !
Through this experience, it is easier for me to understand the plight of left-handed people. This world is set up for more than one at the grocery
store..and for right handed people everywhere.
