Default .38 special or .357 mag

If I am going to kepp it loaded with .38 special what are the pro/con of getting a SP101 in .357?

I would choose the 357. Always nice to have the choice of 2 cartridges, and if you ever need to sell- the 357 will sell better and return more of your money.

I agree with bluedog6. I have a GP100 with a 4" barrel and I shoot both 38 spcl and 357. Nice to have a choice.

About the only downside is size and weight. If those two things don't bother you then it's a great choice.

The upside is, if you ever want to use .357 Magnum loads, you can. I can't think of anything else to say.

My thought is that either one will serve you well. I don't have n SP, but I have a short barrel Speed Six in 38 Special. I also have a 4" K-frame Smith in 357. I have never shot 357s out of the K-frame. My larger and longer options get about a 50/50 diet of 357 and 38.
