If you are looking for a shooter, just order a custom barrel and it will be cheaper than a TC made 44 mag carbine barrel.

Mike has a very valid point. The TC super 16 carbine barrels in 44MAG have be getting premium prices for quite a few years, if and when they do go up for sale.

I have one and it is a great shooter with my homecast bullets. I like it a lot and it a great deer whacker. It is not for sale, but I would not pay what they go for on the auction sites either. I would buy full custom from MGM/Bullberry first. I could add a few inches to the barrel that way. Sixteen inches is great, but 18 would be a little bit better. I would not go a full 20 inch though unless you are using a heavy stock. Putting a longer barrel on the standard carbine stock would ruin the balance IMHO.

I have a E.A.Brown custom 18" tapered blued barrel in .445 Supermag that i might be willing to part with for the right price. Make me an offer. You can shoot .44 specials, .44 magnum and the .445 Super mag in this barrel.

Around $400 (depending on which auction site and how many idjits are involved of course). I did see one about Christmas time go for way more than that however on that auction site I will not use. It was new in box like the day it was made however.

For not much more than that $400 MGM will build you one in exactly the configuration you desire. If you are not a "collector buying it for the TC label" the choice seems obvious, to me anyway.

Pick up a cheap (<200) super 14 and have an extension mounted... velocity will not suffer ... much.
In fact according to http://www.ballisticsbytheinch.com/44mag.html only 5 FPS per inch (14" to 18" Federal 240 gr)
W0W!!!

That is some very "unique" furniture on that Carbine, never seen anything quite like that....neat.
