Excellent answer, Fredstaple. You have 1/2 credit for answering 1 of 2 questions. How about number 2, the one about Black Paint?

Go to our last posting on page 34 and read question No. 2 at the top of that LAST POST. Come on now, quickly before Double D. spots this!

He is our, come in at the last minute and chop the head off the snake, guy!!

I will add that while green is the correct color, it will not be paint. It will be artificial grass usually used in miniature
train set ups.
Here it is.
Credit for the idea to my lovely assistant.

The areas to be painted black would be covered by earth in Halifax

Thank You, Michael for that detailed info on the addition of realistic looking "Grass" on those two corners. Once again, Cudos to your lovely assistant!!

Spuddy, so nice to hear from you again. Wow, another well thought out answer! Correctomundo! You have answered a, not so easy, question with authority and Panache. You are correct, all the subterranean areas of the Gun Position Diorama will be painted, Black. Also, all concrete edges which are the result of sectioning will be painted, Black.

Neat idea Zulus Wife.

A Dumb question from me. So I assume these will be used for dispalyng the guns, rather than shooting off of them also?

Or both purposes?

The only black I could figure was a little in the recessed areas where the large rings and I bolts are located. This however would not qualify as substantial. Great figuring this out spuddy.

The Zulu portion is really coming along nicely indeed.

Carbineone1964, Mike and I will use our Gun Position No. 2 by Zulu for both Displays and also for Shooting. If there is a smudge or two on the Gun Mount after shooting, we will clean them off with warm soapy water. If any stains remain, we will use the appropriate paint to touch-up for subsequent Displays. We suspect, as you do, that most folks will use a thick board for a shooting mount and save Zulu's work for Display purposes.

Fredstaple, we see what you mean, the maneuvering rope ring and eye bolt are visibly Black. We, of course, were referring to the surfaces that you cannot see if you were viewing the actual Gun Position in York Redoubt near Halifax, Nova Scotia will be painted, Black. This you gave Spuddy credit for figuring out, which was nice of you to do.
