Looks like decorative item resembling salute cannon. Unvented means maker didnít intend for it to be fired. Cannons much like this have been made/sold in UK for maybe a century. Thatís my best guess anyway. Carriage nicer than average for these.

Looks vented to me, your opinion then, John?

The barrel has a touch hole. I've charged the snot out of it and have fired it 5 or 6 hundred times over the past 35 years. The casting has grains like crystal you can see in the pic. Carriage is cast iron and its heavy as all heck.

That pic showing the vent didnít load the first time. Looks like a salute cannon. Iíd be interested to know if the tube is brass or bronze. Should be bronze if made for firing. Lots of people try to tell me they can tell by the color of the patina, but no, you canít. If OP gets definitive info sometime, like a scientific test, Iíd be interested.

The carriage is about the best one Iíve seen on any small salute cannon.

I see the grains in the barrel metal. Usually that pattern means brass; think of galvanized steel, the zinc forms ďflakesĒ like that. If OP has fired it that much, thatís a pretty good test of its integrity, no matter what it is made of.

I know nothing useful to add as to its origin. But it is a good looking Cannon.

See if you can find a scrap metal dealer that has an XRF machine and ask him to zap it and tell you what the composition is.
