Guess Cuts doesn’t stand for the Pledge, celebrate the Fourth, Presidents’ Day, or he hasn’t ever sworn an oath to the constitution either, since ... y’know, slave owners. Must be a Republican then too since ... y’know Democrats owned slaves. Must be pretty peeved at blacks too since ... y’know every African tribe in history practiced slavery. And dang, come to think of it, the colonials practiced white chattel slavery as well by the thousands, forced mixed breeding ... all manner of brutality. Guess there’s no history Cuts can celebrate because... y’know, slave owners.

Some wild stuff here. Some cut the man down for doing what was done in the Bible. When you fight a war make sure your enemy can't rise up against you. In Bible times you killed all including livestock and crios in the field. Judging a man from a time long ago by today's standards is showing a lack of understanding but it makes people feel their sin is not as bad as other people's sin. He was most likely a better general than Lee by wars end. BTW he did less that our 8th Army Air Corp did to Germany or what we did to Japan nuking them. Comparing him to others is the only way to look at what was going on and why he did things the way he did.

.....also fascinating how some of my posts are gone from this thread, but still appear in quotes by others. Bit of creative "moderating" there I guess.

"The liar who charms and disarms and wreaths himself in artifice is too agreeable to be called a demon. So we adopt the word "candidate"." Brooke McEldowney

"When a dog has bitten ten kids I have trouble believing he would make a good childs companion just because he now claims he is a good dog and doesn't bite. How's that for a "parable"?"....ME

Somebody tell the insipid, revisionist, yankee buffoon I can’t see a thing that comes out of his ignorant pie-hole.

You would have a hard time being more condescending than calling a southerner boy...

Just making a point. Not taking sides but I would have served in the ranks of this General.
