Gun Name Czech Mauser 98/22
Year 1922
History This rifle was from an interesting period of time. As I follow, this is when the Germans were no longer allowed to manufacture their own rifle per the Geneva Convention. Mauser either sold machines to Czechoslovakia and started producing rifles. Initially they were using up the old 98 Gew parts they had on hand before manufacturing their own rifles. These first ones were not dated, but were produced between 1922-1923. Then came the introduction of the VZ-24 in 1924. This rifle is chambered in 8mm Mauser. It is also a contract rifle with Arabic markings on the rear GEW style sight.
