Since the .300 blk is a .308 bullet in a .223 case , is it possible it can be chambered and fired by mistake in a .223 barrel ? ,which would be catastrophic .
If I hadn't seen the pictures I wouldn't have believed it. I think on an AR platform you'd need plenty of "forward assist" to get the bolt to close?Don't try this at home!! :tango_face_surprise

I'm stealing this picture. I've never seen anything like this before.It did not take long for a 300Blk to be fired in a 5.56 (.223) barrel. I was an early adopter of this caliber and was researching many aspects of reloading for it. The image like shown above was circulated on most boards discussing the 300Blk, the warning came out very early on, but it happened anyway, and keeps happening.
