|Lt. Dave||Wow. That's more than I would have thought for just a barrel. Must be some topper fans out there.|

Wow. I lost the auction. I put my top dollar and kicked it a few more times. The barrel ended up going for $175 and some change.
It was a great deal for someone. The forend had a stud. I don't doubt that would have worked.
I'll just enjoy the 20 gauge.

Likely to be a possibility.
How's that sound? Just get it and give it a try. You can always sell it here if you aren't comfortable with the fit. Lots of people looking for 28 gauge barrels.
If it's a screw on forend stud then yes, it should work. May take some fitting.
If it's a snap on forend then maybe not. The snap on forends are getting hard to find.

H&R Topper 28 gauge on a 20 gauge frame
I've got a 20 gauge 158 Topper that I have had since the mid 1970s. Love it and it's a family heirloom.
At a local auction this week, there's a 28 gauge Topper Jr. barrel. No foreend, just a barrel. It's listed as a
Topper Jr. Classic 28 gauge. That's all that I can see.
Would this be able to swap on to my Topper? Just checking before I buy.
Thanks in advance.
