First off, I am a M1911 type guy but as I get older, carrying a full sized M1911 is getting heavy. I'm figuring it'll take me 6 to 8 months to save up the almost $600 for it. It's either the Micro( or an officers model M1911. I just don't see myself carrying a striker fired DA only gun...

Not quite, a Garden Gun is actually a Winchester Model 36 in 9MM rimfire shotshell - I have one, currently in the custody of my grandson, who is protecting his mother's garden/flowers.
As to the Kimber - nice firearm, I take it, you're not a 1911 type guy?
