rosewood Thank for the info. Ever since I bought my 10" 7TCU barrel several years ago, I have wanted a carbine barrel, but they have been hard to come by or too expensive. I have found a few good deals on the 14", but didn't consider extending one. I did discover that 2400 and IMR4227 are good powders in the 10" to reduce muzzle blast and still get great velocity when compared to rifle powders. They may work well in the carbine also, but haven't had one to try....

I even looked into making a bolt action for the 7TCU. I bought a short action Savage at a great price and traded for a .223 bolt head. Then I checked on having a barrel made and so far, it is going to cost me more than I want to spend. I still may go this route one day.

Man, I didn't think about doing that. I was looking for a 7mm tcu carbine barrel a while back and never found a good deal on one. Tried a trade, but it never went through. Never even considered extending a 14" barrel. I had seen several 14" 7mm TCU barrels for sale at great prices even. I should have scooped one up.

How did you extend it and what did it cost?

Rosewood..
I have had this Barrel for several years..
In fact.. until just recently, totally absolutely forgotten about it..
Found it in my old sock drawer....😉
I think ? MGM did it...
It looks like they took a cut off .35 caliber barrel piece and threaded it onto my super 14.
I'm just guessing there.
I really don't remember... Sorry
The price was not terrible.. ?
Under a 100 bucks.. ??
(If I'm even remotely close)
They probably used red lock/tight.
And pinned it somehow.. I know it'll probably never come off without twisted the barrel itself.
I'm excited to find it again after all these years.
These newer powders , can make a 14 incher sing..from what I've read about.
I wish I had went to an 18+ on barrel length now.
Less muzzle blast ?
Look a little better ?
I don't know.. I do remember that it shot really good.
I will say it handles like a dream.
I definitely recommend it.

rosewood Yeah, 7-30 waters is rare, I only have 3 barrels .
Also have a CVA Hunter in 35 rem and 7mm-08. The 35 has become one of my favorite guns. It is really mild and sweet shooting and has anchored everything I have shot with it.

I like it. Blued steel and walnut must be an old guy thing huh! Black and shiny in guns is for young guys or old guys with a Harley. That being said I do have a couple of those CVA Scouts myself and find no flies on them and they only come in black and shiny.

Not to many of us that like the 7x30 waters either but a pointy 120gr Hornady in a single shot sure tips deer over!
