flynmoose I have a 1B in 30-06, plenty accurate for gong busting out to 500 yards. I hope to move back to Ione early next year. I have friends that have a 1,000 yard range and a pasture full of sage rats... can't wait.

mrcooper Beautiful Rifle, I have 4 of them the larger calibers shoot great (375H&H, 45-70) Also had a 460 rem mag that shot great, but hurt me to much traded it off fer a #1 in 30-06 I do not expect it to shoot very good as I have a 7x57 that on a good day will go 2" the thinner the barrels the worse they shoot, but it looks like you have lucked out and that is great.
P.S I live in La Grande.

Ruger #1A 22 Hornet

I was lucky enough to win the auction for a new Lipseys Special #1A in 22 Hornet. It looks great, beautiful (to me) wood, color case hardened action and machine turned embossing on the falling block. I understand that Ruger #1s have a checkered reputation, accuracy wise. Not to worry with this one, a four leaf clover group with my obligatory fifth shot 1/2" to the right. I am shooting at fifty yards for now off a bag. I am not a benchrest shooter, like to shoot targets of opportunity like sage rats when I move back to Eastern Oregon next year. I will try to post a picture soon.
