Contendave Iím still getting used to shooting off of them with a pistol. I carried them during deer camp but I found myself still relaying on a solid branch or pasture fence post.

dstegjas Long,
I just use a tall walking stick to shoot off of. I will take a wide stance for stability. Then hold the stick at a point that will allow me to shoot at the height I need too. I lay the contender across my wrist. I can either lean my body or the stick to adjust my shot. That has always worked for me. My avatar actually show the stick I use.

longwinters I have tried shooting off of sticks and could not get the steadiness that I had hoped for. Any hints from you guys?

Good luck with your new rig.

Jim,
Looks good! I hope the opportunity presents itself this year. I was at the range yesterday shooting off of sticks and feel very confident out to 100

Thanks vvllbs. The 7mm TCU is definitely a versatile caliber in the Contender. I imagine that was fun to shoot??
