I probably wont cast for this on. My 3 bo's are my lead slingers. this will be a white tail gun. No problem on the molds. Take your time and what you don't want cast the crap out of. they went out priority mail yesterday.

WOOHOO. IM BACK!
(I couldnt log in again)
I have read that the tredjectory of a 123g Grendel is same or nearly same as a 168g 308. Havent really checked and never shot side by side.
But on my lil 200y range its no glaringly different than any CF hunting rifle. But def flatter than the lil 300.
Lloyd if you are gonna cast for the lil grendel Ill be watching. I have thought about it and not jumped. I have t had much luck with more intensive CF rounds less than 35.
My buddy who has “a few” molds. Has some 25’s but no 264’s I have been able to find. I thought about a nice 90 ish for my 25/45 but havent tried. I would need top punches sizer dies so as you know, its not just a mold when ya start a new caliber.
BTW Thank you much for the mold generosity.

yup they all drop and someone who knows how to shoot a 708 will do much better then someone like me with a 7mag.

I have a buddy here in Iowa who is an armorer with a class III license. Go figure his favorite rifle is a Howa Mini in 6.5 Grendel.
The two of us shot side beside this fall at Brownell's Big Spring range. He was giving up quite a bit in both BC and FPS to my 7mm-08 but he was putting the bullet right on target just like he knew what he was doing. He had a fixed power 10X scope and I kept asking him how much hold over are you giving it and I always got the same answer......I'm shooting dead on. Well I know better than that but I suspect that would have been the answer had we been shooting 2k yards.
I was impressed with the round to say the least! The shooter didn't hurt it any either!

yup that's where the bo really shines. I can load 130 cast bullets pc coated to jacketed velocitys and shoot it cheaper than any ar short of a pistol caliber ar. My main reason for getting my first blackout was I was getting tired of dropping 3 or 400 bucks a year on bullets for a 556. But now I have the bo to scratch the shoot a 500 rounds in a day itch. So I build a couple dedicated hunting ars. A 308 and this not yet done 6.5. I wont shoot the snot out of them. they will probably be used 95 percent of the time with a 5 or 10 round mag. I will work up a load for hunting. Load up about a 1000 and be done with it. At least for a good long time. Ive got a couple bolt 250s myself and love them. My ideal ar for hunting would mimic a 250 or as close as possible. But where those bolt guns lack is I can kill deer with a gun I built myself. Not something I bought at a gunshop. Its like shooting deer with your handloads or shooting pistols with handloads using your own cast bullets. Its just different.

I had one and liked it but with the cost of 6.5 jacketed bullets nowadays I wouldn't shoot it enough to keep it. My wife has a .250 Savage bolt action if I need to scratch that ballistic ballpark itch. A friend who doesn't reload loves his and has slain several deer and hogs drama free.

|lloyd smale||Get yourself a 9mm for sure. Ive got a 16 inch and a 4.5 inch ar in 9mm. There a ball to shoot and can be shot for not much more then buying 22lr shells if you cast your own bullets. My 4.5 fits nicely in a ruger 1022 take down case with 5 mags and is strapped to the roll bar in my jeep jk.|
