ironglow Where are the Sanhedrin in today's Israel?

Apparently they are still trying to resurrect the Sanhedrin, just as they are preparing to build the third temple.

...And likely it is part of that program..having little to do with the current government .

Not quite an accurate analogy; whether born in New Orleans, Texas, Milwaukee or French Lick, KY..that person would be an American.
Israel & Judah were separate entities at the time.

Of course most Jewish rabbis claim Jesus was not fully descended from David...it is in their interest to do so... for obvious reasons.

Here is a rundown of the Israeli 2019 election...the Sanhedrin are not even mentioned;

TM7 The only thing that matters is a true honest picture of these various countries, and not the propaganda image. In the case of Iran, Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries we have a fair picture who and what they are, and they're not pretending to be different from what they are.... But In the case of Israel we have for American consumptive a white wsshed sanitised untrue portrait of what goes on there.

I think Anna in the Middle East blog and Jack Bernstein, An American Jew in Israel site draws a much more accurate picture of what Israel is really about.

As for the nascent Sandhedrin, they're back and holding court again as highest authorities in the land.

From what I see, hear and read, the Knesset basically runs Israel..the Knesset is primarily Jewish, but includes Arab and Christian members. When was the last time you or I have ever heard news organizations say "The Sanhedrin decided today to cut off all trade with Croatia"...or any other governmental decision, for that matter. It is not the Sanhedrin who sends delegates to the US..or the UN.
On the other hand the Mullahs are very much in charge in places like Iran..it was they who encouraged and allowed the taking of our embassy hostage...while Jimmy Carter stuttered.

Marxism happens to fit jewish theocracy very well indeed. That group of rabbinate basically run the place. Most Christians have been driven out of Israel.

Do not stand on a street corner in Israel proselytizing and handing out New Testaments _ _ that is if you don't want to end up missing. Sure..try that in Teheran, Medina, Damascus or "on the shores of Tripoli"...

You didn't use the term "secular", but I believe you claimed that most Jews in Israel were not practicing their faith.

The media and periodicals often pronounce Israel as a secular society.

goodshot "Today there are enough Messianic Jews in Israel, that they have their own clergy and would likely prefer doing it that way."

Thanks IG- I didn't know that, I knew there was a great increase in Christianity in keeping with the His work in these days of removing the blinders of the Jews to recognize and accept Jesus as their Messiah.

And here's what happened to your messianic jews - ->

Sanhedrin Bans All Messianic Jewish Marriages In Israel ...

Sanhedrin Bans All Messianic Jewish Marriages In Israel September 5, 2017 by SkyWatch Editor A rabbinic court, or Sanhedrin, has ruled that a Jew who believes in Jesus as the Jewish Messiah is no longer considered a Jew for purposes of marriage in Israel.

Remember calling somebody a 'Christian' in Israel is a common derogatory put down in Israel.
.TM7
As you have often said, Israel is basically a secular country today...and just like the USA has a fair number of believers, both Christians and Jews.

When I saw your link, and your statement that the Sanhedrin have outlawed marriages between Messianic Jews, it was no surprise..

Since the country is as you say, basically secular, the rulings of the Sanhedrin have little or no effect upon the government, per se.

Today there are enough Messianic Jews in Israel, that they have their own clergy and would likely prefer doing it that way.

I don't blame the Sanhedrin for such a move, if lovely couple of Buddhists wanted me to perform their marriage, I would likely, kindly refer them to the nearest Buddhist temple.

I don't know about any New Testament effrontery, but I have many friends who have travelled to Israel, both with groups and unescorted..and I have had no reports of friction with the locals, even though they carried their Bibles in the open.

.Doubt I would want to try that in Saudi Arabia, Yemen or Iran !
