geezerbiker If a wall isn't good enough, how about a mote with crocodiles. I may be joking about this one but we have to do something and I know a lot of people that think the wall is a good first step.

BTW, the East Germans put what they called fragmentation grenade on their walls. They would go off if someone messed with the wall.

A solution that would add jobs and add to the texas economy.

The wall, along with electronic monitoring is viable, doable, and is being built.
Additional laws making it a felony to house, transport, employ, or harbour illegals would seal the deal with the aforementioned wall.
Well Lloyd, if I'd agreed with you, I would have said so.
I don't ignore "facts" just because your involved.

The wall IS being built, whether you'd admitt it, or are consciously aware of it.

If you were as smart as you believe yourself to be, you wouldn't be trying to tell me, what's going on in my back yard, from 1500 miles away.😁

pastorp We already tried adding more border patrol agents. Remember operation hold the line back in the 80s. Didn’t work. Hundreds of illegals simply ran across the Rio Grande and the border agents could only catch a few. The rest ran into the El Paso neighborhoods to loot and steal whatever the could find.

In the parts of El Paso that had walls it was a different story. Walls work.

The solution is clearly to weed out the corrupt congressmen & women. Deport the illegal immigrants. Stop giving the incentive of a free lunch to all. Weed out the liberal teachers in our schools especially our universities. Start teaching more trades in our schools and less philosophy. Stop government from calling everything a Hate Crime. Let families govern theirselves at home. Put people back to work instead of laying around all day doing drugs even if it results in labor camps to build infrastructure needed in out nation.

magooch All of this illegal invasion would end very quickly if it ever turns out that the illegals eventually vote conservative!y--if, or when they become voters. It is more than obvious that the dummycrats only support the invasion, because they think they can harvest votes from the invaders.

Sandhillbilly Ok, I stayed quiet on this thread long enough. But all I'm going to say is these are the same news outlets that 3 months ago said the wall wasn't even being built

lloyd smale So now you have the gall to speak for the veterans!!! What about the one the ground troops today that you want to cut the budget to arm with the best tools to do the job??? You think those young people over in the sand box would rather have top shelf equipment or a wall in texas???? Did you put America first when you were 18?? If not don't USE them to further your agenda.

There are homeless AMERICANS sleeping in alleys, under bridges, in cardboard boxes, on city sidewalks, etc, many of them AMERICAN veterans who have stood guard against all of the EVIL that surrounds us. AMERICANS FIRST. BUILD THE WALL, guard it, repel ALL invaders. CHARLIE.

lloyd smale Some here get confused on my stand on the border. Im all for stopping the Mexicans and south americans from getting into this country. I just think theres smarter ways. I showed once that for what the border wall (all the way across) we could station tanks a 200 yards apart for the same money. We could do the really smart thing and just use that money to double or triple the border patrols strength and the texas national guard. Doing it that way would give americans jobs, put money into the texas economy and not to many Mexicans are slick enough to dig a tunnel under a border agent or national guardsmen with a m16.

Another advantage to strengthening the national guard is your training reserve soldiers if a real war with Russia china or korea happnes. We could not only finance a major increase in border patrol on the Mexican border but could strengthen are air port and shipping security all over the country and help fight terrorism too. Let me ask you this. Are you worried about some Mexican dirt farmer lighting off a nuke? Or would you be more concerned about some muslim sneaking into the country with one.

Add to that the most important step. Cutting off financial support for the ones that sneak in and make it a felony to harbor or employ one with mandatory prison time. Just cutting off welfare programs for the ones here and future attempts would probably pay for the increase and we wouldn't have to cut our military budget at such a scary time in world politics. Nothing Russia, China and Korea and the muslim terrorist tht were already fighting would like to see then us spending our military budget trying to stop dirt farmers.

I just don't see how someone could see this as anything less then what someone like Obama would propose. Big increase in taxes to pay for an ineffective project instead of cutting entitlements and getting tough with mexico and force them by sanctions to patrol there own borders. Believe me mexico wouldn't piss around with a wall. Theyd use guns.

Of course it will never be perfect, but if it discourages some from entering our country illegally, it is nonetheless an important and necessary element in enforcing our southern border.

I believe the time will come when our politicians will change their minds about total border security, but it will take voters throwing out the stupid liberals, commies and ne’er-do-wells of the left. Even some of the stupid Hollyweird libs and leftist politicians have security walls around their palatial homes. That makes them hypocrites in my book.

Dakotashooter2 We have enough of our own folks here that need help. We don't need to take in every stray cat that comes along. Pretty soon this country will be like that person that has 100 cats living in their house and can't care for any of them. Are they any better off starving inside the house than out on the street ?. Dems are always trying to justify things by saying our forefathers didn't envision this and that...well I don't imagine they envisioned immigrants sucking off the government like they currently are..
