Peabody Old Ruger 4 inch tapered standard.
Absolutely nothing better.

Sheridan5mm Crosman 1377, if that counts.
Only handgun I ever shot anything with. Taken a few rats and one possum.

If I had to, my Ruger Mark II Target 678 with the tapered barrel would work for a survival hunting gun I think.

D Fischer I'm not sure which I Also have a S&W K22 but prefer the 32 long, S&W mod 16 over it. Ammo in the S&W is 90gr cast bullet's.

D Fischer Boy has it been a lot of years since I've been small game hunting! But I have two handgun's I'd use if I started again. One Is a High Standard HD Military with a 6" barrel. The other is a mod 16 S&W with a 6: barrel in 32 Long with 93gr cast lead bullet's. Not a lot of small game worth hunting aroung here, mostly sage rat's!

I love hunting small game with a handgun. I've had a few favorites over the years, but the one that I seem to go back to time and again is my .45 calibre Kentucky percussion muzzleloader.

25 grains of FFFg behind a patched round ball will find the bullseye out to 30 yrds most every time.

Not to many squirrels over the years, but a whole mess of cottontails have been harvested by this simple plain little gun.
