I would like to know everyone's opinion on the best most accurate ammo out there....... I have shot eley red for many years, but, in the last 6 months I have noticed that it is not been as consistent.
What are the winsteads, Lawtons and Sanchez's using??????

ELEY TENEX !!!

I would recommend that you inspect your rifle for lose mounts, screws, etc., if accuracy starts to fall off with ammo proven to shoot good groups.

Just my $0.02..

Eley

OK, I must say that I am new to Eley...That said.

This year at Winnsboro Bart was saying that the "new" stuff coming out of Eley since the plant has moved is just getting scary accurate. As I understand it Bart is the Dist for the stuff. I had already bought mine a day or so before so he wasn't "selling" anything. He seemed to be making a statement vs the stuff in recent years meaning if you thought the stuff you were getting was good..the new stuff is amazing...

Take it for what it's worth...

Eley Ultimate EPS. and yes it is scary accurate. My friend just got some Eley black box EPS match and I can't believe how well it shot it my gun. Almost so good I want to sell all my SK :-D to bad it's always the more you pay the better it is.

Eley and Lapua are pushing each other in R&D while they compete for the benchrest market. Still, the answer to the question is always the same: You won't know until you test the particular lot in your rifle. If the change in "consistency" came with a change in lot numbers it's to be expected. I once bought a case of Eley EPS more or less on a whim. It was a "fast" lot, marked 1154 fps. Ran some through the Finnfire which seemed to shoot almost everything well and the accuracy was unacceptable. Thought of selling it but held on until I got a 1712 and the same ammo makes lovely, tiny, round groups at 100. We're testing lots and not just brands.
