Got the O.K. from the Warden to buy another Encore barrel. I want a .223, but am trying to decide if I should buy the .223 Ackley Improved as I have never owned a .223 AI, but have heard rave reviews about the .223 AI. Anyone have any thoughts/opinions

223 or 223 AI Encore

Is 200 ft per second worth the extra cost to you. Alot more trouble for 223 AI. The barrel will have to be custom or rechammer job around $50 t0 $75. A custom barrel about an extra $100. If you want the extra speed for a .224 calbra why not a 22-250 or 220 swift (223 rechammber). No costly dies or case formming. The down side is the brass would be more costly; but not by much. If I may add; Yes, the 223 is the most popular caliber. The main reason for this is that a box of 223 ammo can be had for $4 dollars per box and a person can go out and shoot the cheaper ammo in the barrel. Other calibers are more accurate others have greater velocity. That is my 2 cents, Twyman
