Guys, I follw this forum a good bit and occassionaly post.. I have a question or two about NEF varmint rifles.
We had a break in about a month ago that claimed my beloved 22-250 Savage 11G and a newly finished custom mauser. I will only replace one at this time and have been weighing all the options. I really enjoy shooting the 22-250 for deer and have chalked up many kills w/ it.
I've been eyeing the bull barreled Handi's,and am considering stepping up to a .243...
Now for the questions..
Any BAD experience w/ the ultra varmint guns?
Can a heavy barrel .223 be rechambered to 22-250? rate of twist okay for that?
I'm sure some of this has been covered before, but I'd appreciate any help. I stay may just get another Savage bolt action in 22-250 as I do miss it greatly, but I also like single shots.. I've had 3 handis. I now only have one, 45-70 w/ a burris 1.5-6 scope for brush hunting...
