I got a large doe last night. It was about a 20 yard shot. The deer was quartering away when I shot.I was using a Rocky Mountain expandable head.It split about a 10" cut down her ribs never entering the chest cavity.I got lucky because it went in behind her shoulder and into her neck. She made it about a 100 yards.I think I will go back to my fixed blade heads.

Just my opinion every one says how good those quartering away shots are well I shot one for the first time this year and I got the doe as you did but I shot a bit behind and the arrow went in too rar back. A broadside shot gives you more room for error and a larger target at the vitals. If the deer just turns slightly it can screw up the shot. I was not that impressed with it. More room for error I think if the deer moves just a little on you. Anyway congrats on #2. ;D
