I JUST AQUIRED A .32 H&R MAG. BARREL IN 10". IT'S A .308 BARREL. CAN I SHOOT .311/.312 BULLETS IN IT? SOME OF THE LOAD MANUALS DO HAVE LOADS FOR THE .311. I'M CONCERNED ABOUT TO MUCH BREECH PRESSURE. HOW ABOUT A LEAD 115 GR. IN .313? ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS BARREL?

I have shot the larger bullets (312-314) in mine, but the pressures do increase quickly and I got a little more fouling. I found the .308-309 bullets to work better, give better accuracy and were more desirable for me. My cast bullets for my barrel, were more accurate when sized .310. Just my opinion.

If you want some good loads, try the sierra 110hp pushed with a little unique or accurate #5.

Cast bullets in the 32 Mag.

I use the Lyman 311316, 3.4 gr. of RED Dot, and a CCI 500 primer. The velocity is 1050 fps. (sub-sonic). The recoil is very low. I have a 3-9 Tasco rifle scope mounted on this barrel, to use for IHMSA field pistol. It will group under .75" at 100 yds. I can get this bullet up to 1500 fps. using H110. Using Lyman 311413 (170 gr.), I've reached 1300 fps. with three different powders, I have not had time to accuracy test these loads yet. I want to try this bullet and load for IHMSA Big Bore Standing Unlimited. I think it will still have enough powder to take down the rams at 200 yds.. The recoil is higher then the 113 gr. bullet, but still low enough to use the rifle scope. It would be nice to shoot field pistol and big bore with the same barrel. 8)
