AKA 10mm.

Project I've been working on for a few months. Had a bit of time to go to the range this morning and was bore sighting the carbine. Still need to put a new butt pad on her and make a grip cap for it. 18" barrel with an attempt to match the electroless nickel platting with an epoxy based spray. Was a standard stock that received a strip, carving and refinish. Originally intended to go with more of the pepper look, but decided to go with a darker brown dye.

The "Green Hornet" felt the need to migrate to a 223 with a 1 in 9 twist heavy profile barrel.

Is it on a SB1 or SB2 receiver?
The "10" is on a SB1. The 223 is on a SB2. The pressure on the 10 isn't much more than a 357 Mag and a lot less than a 30-30.

What kind of epoxy did you use? Did you just cover the insert and put it in the barrel? I have West System epoxy and was thinking about using a filler to make it thicker.

Your project has inspired me. I have an extra 12 gauge barrel that I drilled and tapped for sights that "needs" a pistol insert. I think I'm going with 357 Magnum.
On this one I used JB Weld to hold the insert in. I asked a gunsmith about using it and he said just degrease well and it will never come out. It is holding fine. Used it since it was thicker to fill up the space between the insert and barrel. I used fresh orings and the barrel/insert are very centric to each other.

West Epoxy systems would also work, I just used what I had on hand.

I ended up using a 22 Hornet ejector with a lighter spring and it acts like an extractor. I also put a Banner 1.5 -4.5 dusk to dawn scope on it for now. Seems to be ok.

I'm hoping to work on a couple of Handi 18" barreled 45 ACPs soon. One going to a friend and neighbor that has a lifetime supply of 45ACP ammo.. after a 45-70 that I'm going to play with putting together a refined stock on it. Also thinking about an 18" barrelled 45-70. Heck I'll actually have about 4 or 5 going at one time. I'll prep and glue couple, rework a couple of stocks, etc...

Apparently I have more projects than sense.

Looking good! The electroless nickel plating on the barrel looks sleek, and the darker brown dye gives it a unique touch
