my ruger blackhawk 41 mag is shooting a 2.5 in. group at 100 ft. This is with a 2x scope on sandbags. This is with ww 210 hp factory loads. With lee 210 gr. swc cast from a hard mix and several different loads, the best i got was about 3 in. at 100ft. I was just wondering if this is typical or should i be doing better? Thanks in advance for any help anyone might have.

At 100 YARDS. But I can't shoot that well consistently. I get about 3-4 inches at 75 to 100 yards. Practice practice practice. Gotta do a bunch myself. I have had some occasional good 2 inch groups at 75 to 100 yds so I know my guns will do it - its me that needs work. I once had some really good groups with Sierra 170 hp and Rem 170's but can't remember the load. You might try the 175 ww load if you can find it.
Thats not too good for 100 ft. It would be pretty good for 100 yds. Although thats not a lot of scope, it should still do better than that. Experiment with some different loads and I'll bet you find some that will shoot better.
I fought my 41 Mag with IMR4227 and never got good groups. Switched to Win 296 and now getting excellent groups. Do not know what kind of powder you are using but you might want to try something different.

so, what load did you use with the 296? I was using #9
