I loaded some 250 grain Barnes XPB's for my Raging Bull was using 2400 powder 27 grains seem to not group very well but shootable. I decided to back off to 25 grains and try again. Wow what a difference . Shot a 1 inch group at fifty yards over bags. 4 rounds in the inch group and one about 1.5 away from the rest, which I am certain was me.Does anyone have an idea as to how fast these might be traveling, with 25 grain charge.I don't have any data, and don't own a chronograph. Has anyone used these bullets on deer ?

velocity

I will venture a S.W.A.G. for you: About 1375fps. Years ago i used to shoot lots of .45 250xtp's out of a 454 and like you found 25 gr of 2400 was very accurate, the velocity was around 1375fps out of a 7-1/2" bbl.
