Purchased this preowned 14” barrel some time back and finally got it on a frame. Fired one fireforming load to check function and it went well.
Will have to get to the shooting bench to get it on paper.

Fireforming load is 58 Grain Hornady V-Max with 21 grains of IMR 4198.

Hopefully it will shoot the fireforming loads as well as the 6.5 and 7mm TCUs do.

I plan to anneal brass before the next sizing after they are fireformed.

Any advise on this cartridge is welcome.

As with all bottlenecked cases, setting the headspace to minimum has a lot to do with accuracy and case life. Only bump the shoulder back a few thousandths, not more. A candle to smoke the shoulders is mandatory IMO. Good luck!

Glad to see you got it up and shooting. Mine really does well with H4198 and Hornady 65 gr Vmax's.
Don't worry about the accuracy when fire forming. I just set up 50 more cases with Speers Nickel brass and they shot good enough that I just started ground hog hunting with them while fire forming.
