Our Archery season is open until January 3rd. Just got a few inches of snow last night so I'm hoping to fill my tag next time out, was hoping for a nice buck that I'd seen but I need the meat so I think next time out if it's brown its down
I am. Now that the rut is more or less over, they're a lot more predictable. As long as the hunting pressure hasn't made them nocturnal, you can catch up with 'em between cover and food.
I'm still bow hunting, there are three more weekends left. I've been packing my 357 mag. for the "long shots". I need the meat in the freezer more than I need a trophy.
I haven't even seen any deer, at least when I've been hunting. They've been all over the sides of the roads here in MS. I think next fall that I'll just have all my rye grass patches paved with asphalt instead. That should draw them in! It'll probably save me a TON of money in the long run!
