Hey, I went out to shoot my new 17hmr carbine today, and ran out of windage adjustment with a weaver set up. Are the Leupold mounts just like for a bolt action, dovetail front and wind. adjustable rear? What other mounts do the experts recommend? By the way, the bbl shot under an [email protected] yds, just an inch or so to the left! Its a keeper, thanks, John

Are the contender Leupold mounts win. adjus

Thats a good question, I had the same problem on a 700 Rem the other day and used the Leupold mounts for the first time. I was really impressed. I was woundering if they were the same for TCs myself. By the way I have a 14" contender in 17HMR and it will hold under 3/4" at 100 meters pretty easily on a good calm day.Needless to say I am thrilled with my barrel. KN

Just took a look at Leupold's web site and it doesn't look like they have one with windage adjustment. They only list the DD, which I assume is the dual dovetail, and the QR, Quick replacable for Contender or Encore. KN

Try Redfield or Burris. I think Redfield makes it and Burris I believe makes that style plus the dual dovetail.

 You can also accomplish the same thing using the Burris signature rings with the internal shim packs available. I've had to use up to the full .020 on muzzleloaders with Leupold variable scopes. Man, does TC's quality control suck......
