hey fellow wi folks....is the use of honey burners legal in wi? the rules do not read clearly on this. with bait you cant use wood, glass, plastic metal or other foriegn materials but you can use wood obtained from natural sources...ie a stump or logs. except in the case of scent dispersal...in which you can use foriegn subtances to contain.

i dont have the wording exact to the rules...but it is how it reads to me.

oh yeah and thx graybeard for this forum.

I believe that honey burns are illegal. But someone else on this site was looking at the regs and he said that there was nothing stated in the Wisconsin bear hunting regs that say its not legal.

Any time I read the regs it said that honey was illegal to use and I would guess that means honey burners too.

thanks guys. i called dnr and the office couldnt find exact wording to tell me that it was not legal, but suggested i just dont do it. i thanked em and told them thats all i needed to know. i didnt want to pester them by asking if other items used other than honey being ok or not..ie. maple syrup etc.
