Mike,
No you're not being impatient. I pull out after 3-4 days (two checks) normaly. Gang set the lodge area with both footholds and your 330's. Use a good lure
(there are many) but mine's the best. Hehe. Ace is gonna get in on this one and scold me. I helped Tim (our sponsor) to get his ugly mug in the Trapper & Preditor Caller but it took several. private emails to be of any help as I needed to get lots of additional information from him on many questions I had and I'd like for you to do the same so we don't bore other readers with my long winded questions. My first one that I can ask here is; was there anyone in there before you? Maybe they took what you're trying to catch and you're doing nothing wrong.

Tom,
This is what happens when you get old :( Sorry, but just too many Tims and Toms Damnitall!
Also too many internet names that will also go by their real names at times. My suggestion for what it's worth is to use only one handle on a forum. I use RICK HATTON but could also use Beaver buster, Rat king, Coon killer or Mink Master if My head gets swelled. I'll just stay with Rick for now. Sorry again

I don't trap a lot of beaver, but to paraphrase Paul, I trap all I have. Many times a new beaver trapper causes so much commontion setting up, that the beaver are put down for long stretches at a time. A pinched beaver esp can be very wary. In a new house, that is untrapped, etc- I find it hard to believe there is only one beaver in the pond.
Something I do in situations where I think there are beaver, but there is no action, is to pull the traps and vacate the area for a week or so. No human activity over that period of time should get the beaver active. Before you pull out- study the area so that you wil be able to recognize new activity.

And I don't care what tim says.....

OK guys quit picking on me.
You should have seen how many times I miss spelled my name when this forum first started! Ace and Mallard suggested I wear a name tag when on the computer (forgot it today though) Anyway Tim B, when you got that article published in T&PC, Sure wish you'd have mentioned you caught them two beaver you were holding on my Michigan Mud (that will allways be consistant cause the recipe is wrote down). I do thank you for the kind words in the article though. I don't want fame, I just want MONEY. Hehe. Well the kid wants to use the phone and I better go play with some fish mounting. Signing off for now...Ricl Haton

TrapperMike,
All kidding aside (see how we get off the topic?). Send me some private email detailing your complete situation and I'll shoot back more questions. We'll fugure this thing out. Also listen to the others as they seem to be good beaver men. I used to have a site up that went into detail about beaver sets but it's no longer up. Mallards trying to help me get it back up and running. Even Paul Dobbins really liked it out of book form. My typesetter toll me I couldn't spell and charged me by the hour instead of her first quote on the book :)
