I bought a steel receiver BLR new in the early 90's. Can I convert it from .243 to .308; would only the barrel be changed? I know the clip will work for either caliber. Any estimate on the cost? Thanks.

308 and 7 mag seems to be the easiest caliber to find.
Cost wise you would be best off selling the 243 and buying another steel 308

Barrel change is ALL that is required. The case will work. If you have an older steel receiver BLR, KEEP IT! The new ones are junk.

I have heard some complain that they did not like the fact that the receiver is aluminum but have never heard any real reasons the new ones are "junk"
