For the past several years I have been using a 12 in cardboard box filled with sawdust to compare bullet expantion between different bullets and found that expantion has been nearly identical to expantion on deer shot through the ribs. I tested ( at 50 yards) the 150 gr sst bullet from my 11 in 30-30 at 1800 and 1900 fps and the exit hole was 3/4 to 1 in. And 3 shots in a small cluster would leave a 3 in. hole in the box. I then tried the 150 gr Win. Powershock factory load which was a bit less than 1900 fps and the exit hole indicated a perfect mushroom. To me, the sst seems a bit more like a V-max. Just thought I would share that with you.
