Have one for ya'll:

Would you buy a gun off the internet?

and what if it were a used one?

I've been looking at a couple of Marlin 94's and find they're much cheaper than here locally. Plus pretty much everyone here has to order what I want so the time factor is pretty much a wash.

So, what do you think....?

I've bought a couple or three guns over the net. But they were all through Gun dealers who had a business location. Rusty Colt, out of Connecticut sold me my very first CAS revolver It was used and is one of the finest guns I've ever handled. It had an action job somewhere in it's history and is fantastic! Unfortunately Rusty doesn't know who did the action job! I've also done business with Gary Granger, AKA Five String, and have been very pleased with his service!

I guess ya gotta talk with the folks and trust your gut feeling, I've only bought one over the net, and it was a bit pricy for my budget, so I was a little apprehensive the entire deal. After talking with the guy a couple of times and a couple of emails, I felt he was an honest person. The 1886 Browning rifle was far and away better than he described it and $3-500 less than anyone else at the time.

I have purchased a long gun and two revolvers as well as several pieces of gear from cowboys on the SASS wire.

Each was better than described and at a fare price. Each came with an agreed return process. Where by we each paid shipping one way if item was to be returned.

Each item making me a happy cowboy.

Fair enough in my book.
